This comprehensive Electrical curriculum prepares learners for a career as skilled professionals in the electrical field. Thousands of students are currently enrolled in the Electronics Technician Certificate program and hundreds have earned their Electronics Technician certificate without ever stepping foot into a classroom. Many organizations have adopted our unique program into their training program and many schools have adopted our program into their curriculum. Graduates are eligible for a certificate of completion by the USDOL upon completion of RTI and the necessary on the job learning/training (OJL/OJT). To earn a certificate, the USDOL standards require that a minimum of 576 hours of RTI apprenticeship training is to be earned by each trainee and 8,000 hours of on the job training with a recognized employer. Optical Engineering

To become a fully qualified electrician in the UK it requires you to have a solid foundation in electrical systems across a wide range of environments. ELECT 600 is designed to introduce future electrical technology students to many facets of our program including safety related topics.

Electrician Program Curriculum

Learn efficient techniques to plan jobs motivate employee performance and watch customer satisfaction and profits escalate. An individual needs 576 class hours and 8,000 OJT hours to earn a Journeyman Certificate. Technology and electricity drive the home, condo or multi-unit apartment complex in increasingly complex and integrated systems. Learn to perform ladder logic programming of Allen Bradley programmable logic controllers (PLC) to perform a variety of industrial simulations involving a broad range of electrical and electromechanical inputs and outputs. Train to install, control and troubleshoot electric motors used in a variaty of commercial and industrial applications. Programmable logic controllers (PLC’s) are popular programmable instruments used to orchestrate a process involving electrical or electromechanical inputs and outputs. A program is uploaded into the PLC (usually a “ladder logic” based program) that carries out instructions based on the inputs feeding the PLC device. After you complete a course, we offer rush reporting directly to your state licensing board (where permitted by the state).

The SPA H&S Core Day is ECS Approved and costs only £174.00, with availability weekly. Alternativley, if you are just renewing a card, we can also help organise the ECS HS&E test for just £78.00. Take any City and Guilds examination from the comfort and safety of your own home or workplace with our remote invigilation package. For career changers and others who have to fund their own training if not eligible for Routes 1 & 2. Importantly, you will not be expected to pay anything towards your training while you’re enrolled as an apprentice.

Responsible for installing and maintaining the electrical and power systems in buildings, such as houses, schools, businesses, and factories, electricians are always sought after. In four short but detailed lessons, your team can learn the fire triangle concept, classifications of fires, and the different types of portable extinguishers. It gives a step-by-step guide on how to contain a fire in its initial stages to prevent further damage to your electrical work. By the end of this course, they’ll also master emergency response planning.

Students taking ASU classes will complete 40 online courses to earn their Bachelor’s of Science degree in electrical engineering. Students taking online electrical engineering courses must be self-motivated and consistent to complete their training online.

This exam has 105 questions in 5 hours covering topics such as general electrical principles, wiring & materials, OSHA, life safety, ADA, signs and alarms. This module provides an introduction to magnetism including the nature of magnetism, magnetic fields, and magnetic materials. Electromagnets and permanent magnets are also presented using a combination of video and animation allowing the student to gain a better understanding of magnetic field theory. This module will provide the student with an introduction to voltage in parallel circuits and the application of Ohm’s law to these circuit configurations. The module is designed to demonstrate the effect of current, voltage, and resistance in parallel circuits and describe how Kirchhoff’s current law can be applied to problem solving and troubleshooting techniques. This module is designed to cover the fundamentals of Ohm’s law, work, energy and power.

Continuing Education classes are available throughout the year to members of the IBEW on a variety of topics taught by our excellent staff of instructors. Credit classes are available towards electrical license renewal in Minnesota and several surrounding states. This course will give you a good understanding and knowledge of Part P of the Building Regulations. It is specifically aimed at those wishing to undertake domestic electrical work. Our basic, introductory electrical course teaches you about electrical hazards, how to safely install circuits, consumer units, safe isolation and dead testing of circuits. Our most popular course, it is the only package in the UK to give you the hands on, practical experience in our purpose built flats, that will ensure you become a confident domestic installer.
